The goal of the campaign "Kontra LNG" (against LNG) is to stop the realisation of the LNG terminal project on the island of Krk - including the floating and onshore terminal - as well as all the new supporting infrastructure in Croatia. This project is not only harmful to the environment, climate, tourism, etc., it is economically unprofitable and unsustainable.
Gas is not a transitional fuel because it will prolong our dependence on fossil fuels, slow down the transition to a low-carbon economy, and exacerbate the already existing consequences of climate change.
The campaign is carried out by Zelena akcija/Friends of the Earth Croatia - a non-governmental association of citizens for the protection of the environment, which operates locally and nationally. As part of the campaign, we are organising actions, public events to inform citizens, taking legal steps, etc. and providing support to the local community on the island of Krk.
