In an Open letter to the Croatian Parliament Green action (GA) has asked for improvements of the law proposal. We stated that for Croatia it is not necessary to produce or grow GMOs. We asked for public participation in decision-making process, more transparency and better access to information.
PRESS RELEASE -Green Action has prepared position paper on the new law proposal in May (much worse in comparison with former law) and issued a press release in the media about it. The position paper has been sent to the Parliamentarians and Green Action has negotiated with one parliamentarian to present our position during the debate.
Since 2003 Green Action is part of ongoing campaigning process against gravel excavation and destruction of the river Drava by its devastating regulation. On this campaign Green Action is working together with WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), Croatian NGO The Drava League, Euronatur and The Drava Federation form Hungary.
Otter survey on Lika river is part of the Green Belt Velebit Project - a joint Green Action and WWF initiative for the long-term conservation and rural development of the large karst landscape system comprising the river basins of Lika, Gacka and Krbava, the Velebit mountain range and the sea channel where the system’s underground streams re-emerge.
